Reggie’s Statement in the Wake of the Violence in Charlottesville

In the wake of the chaos, violence, and tragedy the past several days in Charlottesville, VA, State Senator Reggie Thomas of Kentucky released the following statement:

“What has happened in Charlottesville is another tragedy on the American landscape. We are all Americans, and we need to pull together as a nation. We cannot give into and accept hatred and violence as part of our national fabric.”

“My thoughts and prayers are of course with the families of those injured and killed in Charlottesville, but those words seem insufficient to me as we yet again face a situation where more innocent people have died due to senseless violence and hatred.”

Thomas is the state senator from Kentucky’s 13th district representing Lexington and Fayette County and is a candidate for U.S. Congress in Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District.
